SALON serai is 52cc’s hosted hospitality programme, centred on food, drink, and conversation. it is a continuation of the globetrotting supper SALON, exploring it means to live well, simply, and together since 2020.
the word serai is many things. it is malay for lemongrass, fragrant and fundamental to southeast asian kitchens. it is also the geylang serai market, amongst the richest larders of singaporean spice, sound, and spirit. perhaps most evocatively, it calls to mind the ancient caravanserais of the old silk road: places of pause and exchange, where diverse peoples once met under one roof to exchange food and thought.
rooted in seasonal produce from the geylang serai market, and spotlighting rare flavours of the singaporean dinner table, SALON serai brings together guests in shared inquiry into the precinct’s singular space in singapore’s culture and history.

you’ll start off the evening at one end of the loft, and by the end of the night you’ll have migrated around and across the entire space, drink and food in hand. it’s like hyrox, but delicious.
